Skills Update offers you a complete training programme from a beginner to pre-apprenticeship level. You will receive theoretical knowledge as well as practical building and carpentry skills.
Our three building courses independently cater to a students’ diverse needs (ranging from entry-level jobs in the building and construction industry to gaining the skills necessary for renovations or DIY projects). By completing each course, you get well-rounded training in residential construction, with an option to pursue further studies in the field.
Our courses will help you to confidently enter the workforce as a hammer hand or trainee builder or carpenter and will support you to secure a carpentry apprenticeship. The skills gained will help you forge a career in a variety of construction-related fields.
You will learn to use industry-recognized hand and power tools to furniture and small buildings. If you are not able to commit to a programme full-time, you have the option of completing some courses part-time, thus giving you time to juggle your studies with work and home commitments.
