It will equip you with entry-level knowledge and skills concerning electrical installations, testing etc., helping you to perform limited electrical work under supervision. Learn the basics of electrical engineering in order to support your further studies as an electrical apprentice at level 4.

With these skills you will be able to carry out a limited range of prescribed electrical work under general supervision.

You can use the skills gained in the programme to prepare you for your Electrical Service Technician (EST) registration, or to enter an electrical apprenticeship to become a registered electrician in New Zealand.

Enjoy the practical experience with hands-on training to gain a better understanding of the study material. This course can be completed part-time or full-time, giving students ample flexibility to juggle their study with home and work commitments.

Registration as an electrical worker is not gained through completing this level 3 qualification, but credits gained do contribute towards the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory and Practice (Trade) (Level 4), and knowledge gained will also assist you to prepare for your Electrical Service technician (EST) exams.
