Zero Fees Scheme
This scheme permits students to study approved programmes without paying the tuition fees.
The Zero Fees Scheme applies to:
- New Zealand citizens
- NZ permanent residents

- a person granted refugee or protected person status before gaining a residence visa;
When accessing Zero Fees, you, the student, agree to:
- Make satisfactory academic progress e.g., meeting assessment deadlines given by your tutor.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to complete the programme e.g., maintain attendance of at least 80%.
- Adhere to the programme’s specific rules and requirements e.g., achievement of work experience hours.
- Adhere to the student conduct and responsibilities as set out in the student handbook e.g., actively participating in class.
- Regularly check the preferred email address given during enrolment, as this will be the primary means of communication about matters relating to their enrolment and studies at SUL.
Please note:
- Withdrawal from the programme may affect your future entitlement to the Zero Fees Scheme e.g., if you withdraw without a satisfactory reason, you will not be eligible for the Zero Fees Scheme should you wish to enrol at a later date.
- As the scheme operates under the guidelines set by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), Skills Update Training and Education Group (SUL) is unable to guarantee the ongoing provision of the Zero Fees scheme.
