The programme offers learners National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 2 aligned with Services Industries vocational pathway.

Description
The programme is aimed at young people who want to learn basic warehousing and distribution skills. The programme has a practical, hands-on focus covering unit standards in freight handling, forklift operations, merchandising and loss prevention along with customer service, numeracy and literacy. Learners will gain NCEA (Level 2).
Course Content
This programme consists of unit standards relating to the following areas:
• Freight Forwarding;
• Merchandising;
• Customer Service;
• Loss Prevention;
• Sale of Goods;
• Literacy and Numeracy.

Zero Fees.
Entry Requirements
• NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• 16-19 years of age at the time of commencing study.
• Not hold NCEA level 2 or similar qualifications.
• Enrolment is also subject to an interview process.
Pathways
Education:
This qualification can lead to the New Zealand Certificate in Distribution (Level 3) with optional strand in Mechanised Goods Handling.
Employment:
This qualification can lead to entry level roles in distribution and freight forwarding industry like Storeman, Picker and Packer.

What are the benefits
This programme is designed to provide an insight into how distribution fits within the larger supply chain/freight forwarding/logistics realm. You will also gain an insight into customer service and loss prevention; major factors affecting our distribution chain. Learners will also gain NCEA Level 2.
This is a full-time programme which generally runs Monday to Friday, helping to prepare you for entering the workforce or further studies once you graduate.
Eligible youth learners will have access to additional support like travel allowances, safety gear and uniforms.
